runDisney's Walt Disney World Marathon Meet Up

We were fortunate to attend the @runDisney #WDWMarathonMeetUp on Friday, January 11. The meet-up featured celebrities Drew Carey and Joey Fatone, former NFL player Eddie Mason and running legends including Joan Benoit Samuelson, Bill Rodgers, Desiree Davila, Bart Yasso, Jeff Galloway and Dick Beardsley. We ran behind Desi and Joanie through Hollywood Studios. Malinda asked Joanie how her running has changed as she's gotten older. Joan describes her running in BC (Before Children) and AD (After Diapers) - and we can relate! ;-) It was an amazing morning. Thanks runDisney!

@TwinsRun 2sDay

It's @TwinsRun 2sDay!

39.3 miles so here is another 3G  themed post! ;-)

Malinda's 3G Network...

I'm grateful for my family's support.
I'm grateful to run for @AlexsLemonade.

As GG used to say, it's better to give than to receive.
It feels good to give time & money to @AlexsLemonade.
Can you give $2 to fight childhood cancer?

Guess who is who during #WDWMarathon Weekend.
Don't worry, we both answer to Leah & Malinda. ;-)
Or, you can always shout, "It's @TwinsRun!"

My 3G Network: Grief, Gastroparesis & Goofy Challenge

Today, January 7, is GG's birthday. On January 13, when @TwinsRun the 2nd half of Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge, it will be 6 months since I received the phone call. On Friday, July 13, our mom called to tell me that our grandma, GG, had fallen and was very ill. GG was diagnosed with cancer and died on Monday, July 16. The grief over the past 6 months has been intense. My only solace has been running (#Irun4GG). I'm grateful that Leah and I will run Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge together to support Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer in her memory. She was so proud of us for supporting such a worthy cause.

I grieve for myself, my family and especially for my mom. I wish I could give more support to my mom, because she lost her mom and best friend. I can only imagine how difficult it has been for her since I can't imagine my life without my mom.

It's been especially difficult for me lately, since I still struggle with gastroparesis. Sometimes, the physical pain is easier to cope with than the emotional pain. Even with the pain, I'm grateful for the support I received from GG and the support I continue to receive from my mom. Because of their support, it's important for me to keep going and to keep giving back to others.
