2012 runDisney Princess Half Marathon Meet Up

What an amazing morning! I was fortunate to attend the runDisney Princess Half Marathon Meet Up in EPCOT. The morning began with a 2 mile run around EPCOT and ended with an appearance by a very special guest, Princess Minnie! :-) Check out my Princess Half Meet Up videos on my "TWINS RUN in our family" Facebook Page, including Jeff Galloway's advice re: race disappointment:

Half Marathon Pacing Chart

“1/4/8” Method
Compiled by Mark Lorenzoni
(Leah's coach from the Charlottesville Track Club)

Please note that, if you follow the “1/4/8” pacing regimen, you should be in “control” at mile 9, therefore, feeling good enough to pick it up quite a bit over the last 5 miles. Remember: do NOT warm up prior to the start of the race…instead, use the first mile as your “warm up” .

runDisney Goals

"I used to have goals.
They were evil goals, but they were goals."
Dr. Doofenshmirtz

I'm usually a "go with the flow" runner.

I don't use a Garmin and I don't follow a training schedule.

I run to stay healthy, feel better, reduce stress and clear my mind.

However, I must admit I'm a bit nervous about running the Princess Half Marathon.

My goal was to run "fast" again and complete the race in under 2 hours.

My runDisney Half Marathon PR was at the 2011 Disneyland Half Marathon (2:05:07).

My overall Half Marathon PR was at the 2008 ING Philadelphia Distance Run (1:48:57).

Of course, "fast" is relative term since I'm always comparing myself to my twin, Leah! ;-)

Leah's Half Marathon PR is 1:41:03 and Marathon PR is 3:54:47!

I'm always running behind her except when she walked the Disney Marathon in a boot! ;-)

My goal has changed since I've been ill for 3 weeks and I've only run 3 miles! :-(

I plan to take it easy, run slow and stop for all the character photographs.

Now my goal is to finish in under 3 hours and I will be happy with that! :-)

And, if you're passing me, you'll know it's Malinda! :-)

2012 Disney's Princess Half Marathon: Team TWINsRUNinOurFamily

We are sister/sister team "TwinsRUNinOurFamily" and ready to run Disney's Princess Half Marathon on Sunday, February 26.

We made these custom tanks from Custom Ink with Leah's design to wear with our gunmetal Team Sparkle skirts.

We hope to place in top 10 of sister/sister teams since we finished in 12th place last year.

Collecting Character Autographs with runDisney Race Photo Books by Shutterfly

I've participated in 17 runDisney races since my 1st Walt Disney World Marathon in 2009 with my identical twin sister. Since I love to have my picture taken with all the characters before, during and after each race, I always create a Shutterfly photo book after each runDisney weekendThen, I bring the photo book with me to my next runDisney weekend so that I can share my accomplishment and collect character autographs! You can create your own Shutterfly photo book at www.shutterfly.com!
