Identical Twins Run Together to Remember
Michael Connor
November 23, 1973 – March 17, 2003
Leah's brother-in-law, Michael Connor, was diagnosed with leukemia as a child. Michael fought cancer with his inspiring Irish spirit, so it was bittersweet when he died on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2003.
Aileen "GG" O’Connor Hill
January 7, 1938 – July 16, 2012
Our Irish grandmother, Aileen "GG" O'Connor Hill, was diagnosed with cancer on Friday, July 13 and died on Monday, July 16, 2012. Her sudden and unexpected death has affected us profoundly. The grief is intense, but we find solace in running in her memory.
We run together with Team Lemon to raise awareness for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. We will run Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge in January (Walt Disney World Half Marathon on Saturday and Walt Disney World Marathon on Sunday) & Disney's Princess Half Marathon in February.
We also support each other when we run solo. Malinda will #TweetAndRun the Philadelphia Marathon on Sunday, November 18 while Leah is her cyber cheer leader in Charlottesville!
