Everything Marathoning - Lessons Learned Seminar on Zoom

Leah Connor as T-Rex in Chicago
"You'll be DINO-SORE tomorrow!"

"EVERYTHING MARATHONING"
Sunday, March 7 4:00-5:00 p.m. ET
Register on raggedmountainrunning.com for Zoom link

I've run 33 marathons since 2007. I finished my first at Marine Corps in 5:17:03, my 3:36:35 PR in Chicago 2012 and my slowest in 7:11:46 at Walt Disney World in a walking aircast with broken sesamoids (not my smartest move, but my bedazzled boot was a crowd pleaser!). My favorite marathon was Boston 2017 because I ran side by side with my identical twin sister. The most rewarding part of my marathoning journey was becoming a volunteer race director for the Rivanna Greenbelt Marathon in 2014. Giving runners the opportunity to achieve their marathon goals filled me with joy. Cheering for runners in an inflatable T-Rex or Air Dancer costume is another way I love to participate.

Spectating the Philadelphia Half Marathon & Philadelphia Marathon: YOU'LL BE DINO-SORE TOMORROW!

I had the best time cheering for the runners during the Philadelphia Half Marathon on Saturday and the Philadelphia Marathon on Sunday. Thanks for all the love!

Some comments from my Instagram post:

"Thanks for being there! We laughed about Dino-sore for a good mile!"

"One of the best signs I've seen"

I hope to write more about my experience when my tooth stops throbbing.

Thanks to Philadelphia Magazine for including me - I'm internet famous! 😉

If you haven't read Mark Remy's "Standing Ovation" that he wrote about spectators after the 2013 Boston Marathon, I highly recommend reading it with a box of tissues. 💙💛

2015 Blue Cross Broad Street 10 Miler: Why Did You Run?

Sadly, the flatter 1/2 didn't beat Broad Street
If found, please return to the faster 1/2 ;-)

On the first Sunday in May, about 40,000 runners run down one street in Philadelphia. Why do they run? The reasons are as varied as the runners. Jon Lyons (founder of RUN215) created this video to share the beautiful note written by Paul Viggiano.

Why did you run Broad Street? Share your answer and/or race recap link in the comments so we can add to this post! P.S. Comments will be posted after moderation.

As always, @TwinsRun to support and raise awareness for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.

The slower 1/2 of @TwinsRun is gathering her thoughts for a recap. In the meantime, @MalindaAnnHill wanted to thank to Dunkin' Philly for the opportunity to run with Team Dunkin'!

Comments from RUN215 Facebook Group:

"I ran Broad Street to spend time with a friend I hadn't seen in a while...we decided to ditch our race plans and just go out to enjoy each other's company, enjoy our city and enjoy the Broad Street electricity. It was the most fun race I've ever run (and I've run many!)...there is something to be said for turning off the Garmin and soaking in the surroundings! I also ran in support of Students Run Philly Style - what an amazing organization!
